Just one of those months... (super long picture post!)

These past few weeks (7 to be exact) have been nothing but difficult for us. It seems like ever since we moved to El Paso we have been hit hard with one thing after another. First it was the unrelenting sickness. More commonly referred to by me as the 'crud'. It came and it stayed and it conquered for about 3 weeks. Then, it was the storm here that took away our water for 4 days, and having to work with our AWFUL property manager from hell (who never answers her phone when we need her, or fixes any of the things in the house that NEED to be dealt with!) about the busted water pipe in the backyard.  Then we got hit with serious car troubles that have still not yet been resolved.  Along with those car problems came the inevitable money problems. I am still looking for a job and thankfully I have a few promising leads, but nothing certain. And of course, last but not least, the annoying bickering and overwhelming stress that accompanies money problems. :) But through it all i know that we have been making good choices for us and that these are just bumps in the road! SO! I need to just post about something positive and remember the things I CAN be grateful for right now :D

I'm blessed that I am not being chased by a lion. (Chances are somebody, somewhere is!)

I'm grateful that I know what chocolate tastes like! (especially lately!)

Before and Afters... You're gonna wanna see this!

So if you read my last post you know I was pretty pathetically sick recently. Like the kind of sick where you lose any sort of energy and therefore any motivation to do absolutely anything in the house. Dishes piled up, laundry piled up, dirt in the corners piled up, and I was piled on the couch with blankets and pillows and kleenex. Friday I finally was able to go to the doctor and walked out with a whopping SEVEN prescriptions. Told you I was sick :/ Anyways, yesterday I got the urge to do ALL the laundry in the house and just be done with it. This was a major task, but I completed it :) Haha Now you can look at the before and after photos and judge and then congratulate me :D

Is this not daunting?!

 :)

Nicely folded or on their hangers!

The piles they are in, are the individual loads I did. 9 in total! Yikes...

I feel pretty good about myself :) Tomorrow I'll have the before and after kitchen photos... If I find the courage to actually show anyone. ha

Love is in the air.... and germs?

Hello world! I have been quite absent about blogging for the past cough*year*cough, and I am back and better than ever :D I WILL catch every one up on our new life here in El Paso, my crazy new callings, and our cute adorable house, blah blah blah.... But for now, I am jumping on the love train and going with the flow!

Since today is obviously the second of Feb, I will tell you of two things :) One love, and one hate. Now, don't get your panties in a wad over that icky word, or the fact that it's the opposite of what this month is all about. After I tell you about my experience with this "thing" you will find you are hating it right along with me. :) Promise.

I hate being SICK! ALL. THE. TIME. We have lived here about 6 weeks now and I have only been healthy for about 2 of those weeks. I have made a body indentation on my couch. I have watched 3 seasons of Law and Order: SVU. I have gone through 2 bottles of Nyquil, one bottle of Dayquil, and one HUGE bag of cough drops. I have rubbed Vics Vaporub on my chest countless times. I have filled 2 trash cans with tissues. I. AM. DONE. Like, so done! I hate being sick!

Why have I not gone to the doctor you say? I hate the doctor. It has taken me this long to work up the courage to go, and when I called the base hospital yesterday they told me I was not registered and that Bryce needed to go in and do that first. So I'm sitting in bed, DYING, and I call Bryce to ask him (pitifully) to go over there and register me, and he informs me that the battery light in the car has gone on and he is taking it to get looked at first. (we have one car so it's first priority) I am sad that I can't go to the doctor yet, but I have faith that it will all work out. Maybe.....

NOT! It took them 4 hours to get to it, and then they said they couldn't fix it for another 6...?????!!!!!! WHAT?! I AM SICK! Well I get over the fact that me going to any doctor is just not happening on this particular day, but I am still sad that Bryce won't get home till about 2 hours after he normally would. Sad. (Oh and by the way, poor Brycie is super sick too) It ended up that they couldn't fix the car last night and the manager at Firestone had to bring Bryce home. Ridiculous. Now we have no car.

Brightside? It SNOWED :D And we get to stay in all day and drink theraflu and rest. :)

OK, pity party over....

What do I love today you ask? SNOW. I love snow so much! I was so soo sad when my family informed me of their white christmas, and then a few weeks later of their blizzard. Jealous! But, it has now snowed twice in El Paso, and it is so neat! I can't think of a better way to describe snow covered palm trees :) pictures you say? Ok!!
Pretty huh? At least a different kind of pretty. :)

So that is what I love today. What do you love?
